Yea, your games look good. Gears 2 looks just as good as the games you've got coming, Fable 2 looks gorgeous, Id had publicly said that Rage is going to look better (significantly better mind you) on the 360 and PC versions because the PS3 has trouble with the megatextures in the new id tech (it also caused the majority of the delays in Rage).
What's your point? "Oh my goodness a texture popped in on a multi-platform game with a mandatory install on one system and no install...
the replies are funnier than the article tbh...
finally get to see the AC engine put to use in a setting it deserves huzah! wonder how they'll advance on the combat though. I'm super pumped.
Thee broken units don't just go away. I said that in a post on the first page.
One problem, with 5/10 and 1/10, you get 6/20 (30%). Not 11/20. Sry :-X
get the PS3 to display a 400mb texture... try it.
agrees for you. If you have performance to spare, you can make AA look as good as/better on the PS3. On the 360, you can do it with little performance hit, but there's limits on the amount of AA you can do.
+1 internets
360 is the lead platform for this game. L2r.
Very few people will be able to tell the difference between 4 sampled AA and 8, which is probably what it will come down to as a difference. If not 8 and 16, which is even harder.
The major differences between the game will probably come down to performance. Since merc2 is lead on 360, the PS3 version is probably going to have a harder time with framerate as 360>PS3 ports tend to. That's going to have a much larger effect on gameplay then whether or not the jaggies in one game...
Did you guys miss the part where it said that the PS3 version isn't even completely ported yet. AA isn't the holy grail of a game looking better unless the 360 has none at all. I doubt the average person would be able to distinguish 4 samples from 8 or 16 while playing a game in any definition.
If you're using the fact that a developer said AA is easier on the PS3 to judge games looking better in the future you are grasping at straws. AA is a minor afterthought compared to things...
jebus. They release a new board every year that has made the system progressively better either through lowering the heat, increasing the strength of the clamps, or using newer DVD drives.
They've already increased their quality controls. Haven't you wondered why the failure rate of launch 360's is closer to 50%, but the overall failure rate of 360's is only at 17%. They've redesigned the innards of the system every year since launch.
I can't approve of any article that doesn't say something bad about the 360... gtfo my internets.
/sarcasm
I mean jesus, your own support says the differences are minor at best and you flame the article because it says that under most circumstances the frame rates are similar with the exception of closed/small rooms and low traffic, which shouldn't be taxing on either system.
Really, do you guys have to start flaming an article for NOT saying bad things about the 360?
Euphoria is more to do with giving AI awareness of it's body.
Endorphin involves how the AI deals with it's surroundings and environment.
Morpheme doesn't use DMS on it's own. It's just an animation tool that can implement DMS.
Resistance isn't the same. Resistance 1 was an ok game that got praise because it was one of the only games on the system. They're building off an ok game for the second one.
In the case of Gears, it took decent sized leaps in graphics and gameplay. It is one of the first third person shooters that was actually fun. It also took huge leaps in dramatic impact of game design especially for in game (read: non-cutscene) storytelling and action. The only thing that really held it back...
I don't care if they think different. If they do they think wrong. That's the way it works, period. The 360 isn't limited by writing/reading inside out. Developers can put info anywhere on the disk they want. Because of that the read speed at the outside of the disk is almost always used.
That's why a lot of games ported from the 360 have an install on the PS3.
neither said either. a rockstar developer said that the 360 version looked more clinical, but neither said either version was "superior".
Do you have any idea the media sh*tstorm that would cause?
DVD doesn't read the same way blu ray does. It's read speed is different on the outside and inside of the disk. Blu-ray reads the same speed over the whole disk. the average speed over the whole disk is what I'm guessing your numbers are, but the faster read speed on the outside of DVDs is the reason PS3s have mandatory installs on most of their games.
developers can write things that need to be read faster to the outside of the DVD, so they can stream those parts. On Blu-Ray the...
Pretty sure I owned all of those for the xbox. (except SA, which i only rented.)
Sounds like a bad Blu-Ray. Bioshock had some problems with it too. More than likely you'll have to get a new one. It's doubtful it's a hardware error.
An update won't fix it btw. Call the take two support or the number given and you should get a new one shipped to you.
